Highlighting the capabilities of digital platforms to assist businesses in creating sustainable value and transitioning to a green industry
“Banpu NEXT,” a subsidiary of Banpu PCL., expands its solar portfolio in a number of Thai industrial estates. By preparing to begin power distribution in the middle of 2022, the company demonstrates the success of the solar floating projects in LK Rubber Industrial City Hub (LK-RICH). The new solar project is estimated to save more than 15 million baht per year on electricity costs and to enhance the industrial estate’s sustainability model. Most recently, Banpu NEXT had the opportunity to handle a major project, the solar floating project for Apex Green Industrial Estate, with a total production capacity of 32 megawatts, bringing expertise in energy technology to design the solar system in all forms, including solar floating that meets the needs and is suitable for industrial estate business. Banpu NEXT, through a digital platform and real-time system monitoring application, assists businesses in creating sustainable value, lowering electricity costs, increasing energy efficiency, and transitioning to an environmentally friendly green industry.
Mr. Chanit Suwanparin, Senior Vice President – Customer Experience, Banpu NEXT Co., Ltd., said, “Banpu NEXT has implemented the ‘Greener & Smarter’ strategy from Banpu. We are dedicated to provide Smart Energy Solutions for Sustainability that meet customers’ needs and continue to promote the growth of smart cities. Last year, the company continued to expand its Smart Energy Generation, or the solar power system, to the fullest extent possible to customers in Thailand. Currently, Tribeca Enterprises Co., Ltd. is building a large solar floating project in LK-RICH in Rayong, with a total capacity of 16 megawatts and a progress of more than 95% installation, which is expected to begin supplying electricity in the middle of this year. A digital platform and dashboard will be installed, which will enable the industrial estate to monitor water level, water quality and operation of the solar system in real time to ensure optimum electricity generation and no environmental impact to the reservoir’s ecosystem. This project will save electricity costs and reduce CO2 emissions by up to 11,000 tons per year, as well as enhance the image of a model eco-industrial estate that aspires to grow the estate, communities, and employees in accordance with sustainability principles.”
Banpu NEXT intends to install all types of solar systems in Thailand for all industry sectors by 2022, with an emphasis on industrial estates and large industrial sites. The solar floating project at Apex Green Industrial Estate is Thailand’s largest private solar floating project, which has a total capacity of 32 megawatts and is installed over a 200-rai pond. Once the installation is complete and the system starts supplying electricity, it is expected to save more than 36 million baht per year on electricity bills while also helping to promote the ecosystem around the industrial estate and surrounding communities to have a better quality of life in a sustainable manner.
“Banpu NEXT has now gained the trust of customers from a wide range of industries, including large industrial estates, factories, hospitals, department stores, community malls, schools, hotels, marketplaces, gas stations, and so on. This is due to our clients’ trust in the depth of our knowledge of all types of solar installations, including solar rooftops, solar carports, solar floating ,and solar farms. Our customer-centric operations begin by analyzing each customer’s energy consumption behavior and using data to develop a solar system that satisfies the needs and pain points suitable for energy use. More crucially, there is a digital platform that allows consumers to monitor energy generation and consumption from both the solar system and other electricity sources, including monitoring the outcomes of saving electricity costs and lowering CO2 in real time, 24 hours a day, via the application. The system can also instantaneously warn users of problems and errors via this app. In addition to this, Banpu NEXT provides other Smart Energy Solutions that can help businesses create more value while also lowering energy expenses in all dimensions,” Mr. Chanit concluded.
